Editor in the Chief

What affect are rising fuel prices having on our Jeep life style and hobby? Will we be doing less off-roading and not attending as many Jeep events? Will we be Jeep pooling and not travelling alone to events or on club trips? Are the days of V8s and big six cylinders nearing an end? Do we convert to LPG, swap in a small diesel engine, or buy a more economical vehicle for daily commuting? These are the questions we will all be facing and making decisions on as fuel prices continue to rise, especially if you own a Classic Jeep which aren’t renowned for their fuel efficiency. The current range of Chrysler Jeeps are returning respectable fuel economy figures and we are appreciating our Patriot for those trips where we require comfort and economy and hard four wheel driving is not required. I would like to hear from our readers on their ideas for coping with the high fuel prices.

This issue we feature the third and final part of Rodney Walker’s CJ7 rebuild. Profiles include a Grand Cherokee and CJ8 Scrambler. We cover three Anzac Day parades in Army Archives and have an update on Hunter racing. There’s model Jeeps, Tech Talk and more. The 2008 Jeep Jamboree is only three months away so get those registration forms in.

Enjoy
